Man Robbed At Gunpoint In Christiansted

Crime / News / Virgin Islands / October 31, 2016

ST. CROIX — V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte reported on Sunday that a man had been robbed at gunpoint on Saturday night in Christiansted, with two suspects robbing the victim of an unspecified amount of cash.

According to Mr. Dratte, at about 8:24 p.m. on Saturday, officers from the Marshall Command Unit in Christiansted were dispatched to investigate the robbery, which occurred in downtown Christiansted near Crucian Gold.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers made contact with the victim, who stated that he was walking in the vicinity of Crucian Gold when he was approached by a black male, who then pointed a gun at the victim’s face and demanded money, according to Mr. Dratte. A second suspect, coming from the back, pointed another gun at the victim and robbed him of his cash. The two suspects then fled the scene.

No one was injured during the incident, Mr. Dratte said. Police did not provide descriptions of the suspects.

Police are asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of criminals to contact the Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211 ext. 5579 and 5557. Residents can also contact 911, or Crime Stoppers, where tipsters get monetary rewards for successful leads.
