ViVid Streaming Hosting Giveback Events Throughout Territory And BVI

ViVid Streaming is once again teaming up with several community organizations and businesses for a “Christmas Give Back” effort that will be held throughout the territory and British Virgin Islands, a press release the streaming service issued last Friday has revealed.

St. Croix administrator Stephanie Acoy-Williams contacted ViVid Streaming founder Rashidi Clenance asking for the online radio station’s assistance with efforts to secure toys for underprivileged children on St. Croix. According to Mr. Clenance, at the time that he was approached by Administrator Williams, ViVid Streaming was already orchestrating similar give back efforts with Airs R Us, Neighborhood Pharmacy, DJ Slick, and the BVI Horse Owners Association.

The results of this joint effort will be the biggest community giveback in the online radio station’s brief one-year history. ViVid Streaming has already conducted three giveback events, with the donation of $800+ to Coach Sherman Thomas, who was the victim of a hit and run accident on St. Thomas; the immediate clean up of Point Udall after individual(s) vandalized the iconic landmark, and the donation of an electric wheelchair to St. Croix resident Rueben Turner, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

On Christmas Day ViVid Streaming will team up with DJ SLIK to host a post KariJokey party in The Win Mill Sports Bar in Crown Bay St. Thomas. Event-goers who bring a toy or monetary donation will gain entry to see DJ SLIK, the ViVid Streaming DJs, and a guest performance by Wally Kyat. Give and get back at the Christmas Eve “VI Toy Drive” on St. Croix, hosted by DJ SLIK in conjunction with Shadyville DJ’s at Legacy Lounge, by bringing a toy and gain free entry to see DJ SLIK, Sincere of Deh Fam, Junior P, Bugz Bugs, Trinity Krew, Shamall and much more.

Today, ViVid Streaming will be at the Sunny Isles intersection collecting toys and monetary donations in their nets donated by United Sporting Goods and on Tuesday the ViVid DJs will be at Mandela Circle on St. Thomas doing the same thing.

Clenance says the way the give back will work is, if someone drops off a toy or monetary donation to Airs R Us, located in Sion Farm Shopping Center, they will qualify to win a mini split air condition unit courtesy of Airs R Us. Anyone who drops a toy or monetary donation off at Neighborhood Pharmacy, located in the Oasis Shopping Center in Estate Mountain, will qualify to win a trip to San Antonio Texas to see Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs. Participants can qualify to win a consultation for remodeling any room from Don Geo Design & Management. Finally, someone can win a trip to Tortola courtesy of Native Son to attend the Christmas Races on December 27, where ViVid Streaming and Neighborhood Pharmacy will be donating an Electric Wheelchair to a BVI student in need.

The idea of the Christmas Give Back is to give the underprivileged children of the Virgin Islands the best Christmas and some of the best gifts possible, according to the release. As illustrated in previous give back efforts, the community is filled with kindhearted people that give graciously and they too should be rewarded for their kindness, thus the prizes that will be awarded to some lucky donors.

“While it may seem like a lot, we can never do enough for the generation that will produce our future leaders, plus ’tis the season of giving,” Mr.  Clenance said. “In speaking with Administrator Williams, the idea is to raise $4,000 to give low-end tablets that can be used for educational and recreational purposes.”
