The St. Croix Educational Complex Cheerleading Team is gearing up for a major milestone as they prepare to represent St. Croix and the U.S. Virgin Islands at the World High School Cheerleading Competition in Orlando, Florida. Scheduled to take place from February 7-9, 2025, this marks the team’s second appearance at the event.

This year, the team, consisting of 32 athletes, will be competing in the Super Varsity Non-tumbling Division. Months of rigorous training have honed their skills, demonstrating their commitment to the sport and to representing their community on the global stage.

Call for Community Support

The team is reaching out to the local community for assistance to help fund their journey. With only five days remaining in their current fundraiser, they are inviting individuals to contribute by donating or purchasing a custom T-shirt or hoodie. The funds raised will help offset the costs of travel and participation in the competition.

For those interested in supporting the team, a fundraiser link has been set up for donations and purchases: Road to Disney T-Shirt Fundraiser.

Additionally, a bake sale fundraiser is planned for Saturday, December 7, 2024. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., supporters can stop by The Market (formerly Plaza West) to purchase a variety of baked goods or leave a donation to aid the team’s efforts.

Supporting this group of talented young women is not just an investment in their journey to the world stage but also a testament to empowering and uplifting the next generation of female athletes.

For additional information on how to contribute, interested parties can contact Head Coach Dr. Dana Philogene-Victor at [email protected].
