The incoming members of the 36th Legislature have unveiled the proposed officers and committee chairpersons who will lead the territory’s legislative agenda in 2025.

Incoming President Senator Milton E. Potter spoke of the team’s commitment to addressing the challenges facing the territory. “Together we will work tirelessly to ensure that the voices of our constituents are heard and that our territory thrives,” he stated.
Vice President Senator Kenneth L. Gittens highlighted the importance of collaboration, noting, “Our leadership team represents a blend of diverse perspectives and strengths. We are committed to creating effective policies that reflect the values and needs of our people.”
Incoming Secretary Senator Elect Avery L. Lewis vowed to maintain transparency and accountability, while Majority Leader Senator Kurt Vialet stressed priorities such as WAPA reform, federal fund allocation, and improvements in education, healthcare, and economic development.
The 36th Legislature’s swearing-in ceremony and inaugural session will take place on Monday, January 13, 2025. The event will be broadcast live on LEGIT TV (Channel 26) and streamed online at legvi.org.
