Traffic Advisory for Thanksgiving Jump-Up Event in Christiansted Announced

Traffic and parking restrictions announced for the Thanksgiving Day Edition of the Christiansted Town Jump-Up on November 29; motorists are advised to follow rerouted traffic patterns and avoid restricted areas to ensure a smooth and safe event

The V.I. Police Department has announced traffic and parking restrictions for the Thanksgiving Day Edition of the Christiansted Town Jump-Up event, organized by the Christiansted Retail and Restaurant Association (CRRA). The event is scheduled for Friday, November 29, 2024, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 

To ensure safety and smooth traffic flow during the event, the following parking restrictions will be enforced:

  • No parking on King Street from the Florence Williams Library to the Christiansted Fort.
  • No parking on Company Street from the Christiansted Fort to the corner of Company Street and Queen Cross Street (Riddims).
  • No parking on Queen Cross Street from the corner of Queen Cross and Company Street (Riddims) to the Caravelle Casino.
  • No parking on Strand Lane.

Vehicles parked in these restricted areas will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense.

From 4:00 p.m. on the day of the event, the following traffic restrictions will be in place:

  • No traffic will be allowed past the Florence Williams Library on King Street and the corner of King Cross Street, except for vendors participating in the Jump-Up.
  • No traffic will be allowed past the Christiansted Fort on Hospital Street westbound onto Company Street. All traffic will be rerouted to Queen Street westbound and around the event area.

The VIPD advises motorists to adhere to these restrictions and make alternative arrangements to avoid inconveniences.

The police department thanked the community for their cooperation in ensuring a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving Jump-Up celebration.
