ST. CROIX -- V.I.P.D. officers with the Virgin Islands Crime Initiative Unit on Monday arrested Kaminah Davis of Estate St. John and Marissa Schneider of Clifton Hill, both age 29, on a warrant for forgery, acting in assumed character, and conspiracy, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima has announced.
The investigation by detectives of the Economic Crimes Unit revealed that in March, Davis, who is a former employee of a local pharmacy, advised Schneider to go into the pharmacy and request the complainant’s prescription. Schneider then went into the pharmacy, acted like the complainant and forged the complainant’s signature without her permission in order to obtain the complainant’s prescription, according to police.
Mr. Derima said he did not know what the prescription the suspects sought was, or whether they wanted it for personal use or to resell it.
Unable to post bail of $50,000 each, both women were remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Facility pending their advisement hearing.
