The Virgin Islands government’s new online system for registering corporations, filing documentation and conducting other transactions is being showcased in the St. Thomas-St. John District from December 10 through December 18.

Lt. Gov. Tregenza Roach is inviting the business community to attend the Division of Corporations and Trademarks’ information sessions on the online Catalyst system – an online module that places the territory on par with corporation services offered in the states and other U.S. territories.

The information sessions are open to existing business owners, new business owners, and service providers who assist new and existing business owners with filings to the Division of Corporations and Trademarks.

To do business in the Virgin Islands, companies must be registered with the Office of the Lieutenant Governor and must remain in “active/in good standing” status.

“It is important for existing and future business owners to know how to use the Division of Corporations and Trademarks’ online Catalyst system. This system is used to create a user account, register business entities, and conduct transactions for existing businesses. It is also used to maintain the business entity status of active/in good standing or current to avoid administrative dissolution for failure to comply with the annual or biennial statutory requirements,” said Mr. Roach.

Upcoming information sessions for the St. Thomas/St. John District:

St. Thomas: Omar Brown Sr. Fire Station Conference Room on Tuesday, December 10 at 6:00 p.m.; and Thursday, December 12at 6:00 p.m.

St. John: Cleone H. Creque Legislative Conference Room on Wednesday, December 18 at 6:00 p.m.

St. Croix: Information sessions for the St. Croix District will be announced at a later date.
