The Office of the Lieutenant Governor announced this week that Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach is out of the territory for a personal matter, and will return July 8.
The release did not say where Mr. Roach traveled to, citing the nature of the trip as personal. In his absence, Senator President Novelle Francis will be acting lieutenant governor, as required by the territory’s Revised Organic Act.
Mr. Roach in late June attended the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (N.A.I.C.) Executive Committee Interim Meeting, and Mid-Year Commissioners Roundtable Session in Rockport, Maine.
“In attending past NAIC meetings and sessions, I received firsthand information on policies, laws, and regulatory initiatives that are relevant to existing and new developments in the insurance industry,” said the lieutenant governor. “I am always eager to learn more to keep the territory current on insurance matters and ensure that regulatory standards are met, especially as the Division of Banking, Insurance, and Financial Regulation continues to pursue accreditation.”
The lieutenant governor returned from the Maine trip on June 28.
