Roach Heads To Washington For Annual Federal-State Relations Meeting

Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach left the territory today for Washington to participate in the annual Federal-State Relations Meeting organized by the National Lieutenant Governor’s Association (NLGA).

Discussed at the meeting are state, federal, and international affairs. Topics will include the economy and trade, strategies to address homelessness, Veterans health care, federal/state relations, and water and higher education policy. Policy resolutions will be presented for consideration, the release said.

“The NLGA Federal-State Relations Meeting provides a platform for lieutenant governors from 50 states and five U.S. Territories to meet, plan, network, and participate in discussions on key issues. This professional association also provides the opportunity for leadership training focused on improving the duties of the office of the lieutenant governor. I look forward to a productive and successful meeting as we address issues that impact all levels of government,” Mr. Roach said.

Mr. Roach will return to the territory on Saturday. In his absence and in accordance with the territory’s laws, Senate President Kenneth Gittens will serve as acting lieutenant governor.
