ST. CROIX — Digby Stridiron, who not too long ago opened a restaurant called Braata in Frederiksted, on Sunday officially opened yet another eating house, named AMA, this time in Cane Bay and with unmatched scenery, ambience and elegance.

AMA at Cane Bay, which currently opens Wednesday through Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., will soon have an all-week schedule, Mr. Stridiron, a partner and executive chef of AMA, said.

For its official opening, AMA hosted the 4th Annual James Beard Foundation dinner, which promotes the food community’s efforts “to meet the world’s challenges and make it a better, sustainable, more delicious place,” according to a blurb on the foundation’s website. Funds raised Sunday night will go towards supporting the foundation’s women’s leadership programs, according to Ashley Kosiak, the foundation’s Impact Programs manager.

Chefs who participated Sunday evening were from around the territory and Puerto Rico. Watch the video above.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
