Harbor Night Returns To St. Croix On Tuesday With Performances From Adam O., Stanley And Much More

Culture / Entertainment / Featured / Tourism / Virgin Islands / January 20, 2019

ST. CROIX — Harbor Night, once one of St. Croix’s favorite entertainment events — which saw residents descending on the Frederiksted Pier from late afternoon until 11:00 p.m. or so, with a cruise ship docked at the port and its passengers patronizing vendors, basking in the night beauty of the town while being serenaded by the island’s top talent — returns to the pier this coming Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., the Department of Tourism (D.O.T.) has announced.

Organized by D.O.T., the Frederiksted Economic Development Association (FEDA), and KDM Productions, the return of Harbor Night on Tuesday is expected to be a grand affair, with a diverse mix of performances from St. Croix’s best. Tourists from Celebrity Infinity’s Jazz Cruise Ship and St. Croix residents can expect to be wowed by entertainment from Adam O., who will be performing with a live band, Chris Klein and the Boulevards, Eddie Russell, Sweet Noise, Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights, We Deh Yah Cultural Dancers, Gyasi Clark, Seanise Jeffers, Guardians of Culture (Moko Jumbies), Ay Ay Masqueraders, CJM Hummingbirds and Power Stars Steel Band, Moko Jumbies and the Masqueraders and much more, D.O.T. said.

“The Department of Tourism invites all in our community to celebrate our culture with the many visitors who will be enjoying our island during Harbor Night,” said D.O.T. Commissioner-designee Joseph Boschulte. “This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our unique heritage as Virgin Islanders and to join the fellowship with our guests to show them the rich, dynamic and diverse culture we enjoy.”

Residents expecting their favorite local eats will not be disappointed, either, as a number of vendors have signed up for the affair. For the Virgin Islands diaspora and people all over the Caribbean and world, the event will be carried live on The Consortium’s Facebook platform.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
