Carlos Furniture, Great Brands & Excellent Prices

Business / August 1, 2014

This post is sponsored by Carlos Furniture: Established in 1997, Carlos Furniture grew from humble beginnings into a formidable and ubiquitous furniture store on St. Croix, and has since expanded into St. Thomas.

Speaking to Jihad, an owner of Carlos Furniture, I asked about the community’s reception and about the business climate in the Virgin Islands.

“I’ve lived in a lot of communities, and the Virgin Islands is the best that I’ve been part of,” Jihad told me. “The Virgin Islands people are very warm and loving — as long as you’re honest with them, and you take care of them — give them what they deserve, they are a very nice people,” he added.

Jihad also had some advice for the candidates vying to become the next leaders of the US Virgin Islands, as we’re now enthralled in a heated election season — today being election day for the Democratic candidates in the territory.

“These Islands have so much potential,” Jihad reckoned. “We need to choose diligently who we’re going to elect as leaders because we need those leaders to recognize that potential, and recognize the good things we have in the Virgin Islands, and how to make those things work for our benefit,” he said.

He continued: “We should not try to mimic other places, because what we have here is unique to the Virgin Islands — and we need to work on that, and feed on that,” Jihad concluded.

Carlos Furniture has a large assortment of La-z-Boy, Schwatz, Simmons and Kincaid furniture. They also boast a large selection of Rattan furniture sets and 100 percent solid wood furniture.

Appliances include GE, Whirpool, Frigidaire and more. Carlos Furniture also service what they sell and has the largest showroom in the Virgin Islands.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
