Four Hospitalized After Vehicular Accident In Beeston Hill

News / Virgin Islands / December 20, 2018

ST. CROIX — An accident that occurred early Thursday morning in Beeston Hill involving a single vehicle resulted in four individuals being admitted to the Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical attention, St. Croix Rescue Extrication Commander David Goodrich has confirmed to The Consortium.

The accident occurred at about 5:30 a.m. in the vicinity of the Beeston Hill Medical Center. The vehicle, a 2009 Silver Jeep Liberty, was coming from west through Anna’s Hope on Centerline road, when it missed the bend, went through the yield turn and onto the medical center’s lawn, according to Mr. Goodrich. The Jeep Liberty flipped multiple times, suggesting a high rate of speed.

On the scene were multiple first responder teams including the V.I.P.D., V.I. Emergency Medical Services, V.I. Fire Service and St. Croix Rescue. All teams worked together to execute a successful extrication of one of the four individuals, as two were ejected from the vehicle, and one had climbed himself out, according to Mr. Goodrich.

Accidents occur frequently during this time of the year, and the V.I.P.D. has been urging individuals to be cautious. It was only on Sunday night that a two-vehicle crash near the Paradise Housing Community on St. Croix left a 19-year-old man dead and four others injured.
