Crucian Christmas Festival General Schedule Unveiled; Village Themed ‘Festival Fete Kingdom’

The Crucian Christmas Festival Committee has unveiled the general lineup of the 2018-19 festival season, which includes the dates, times and places where events will be taking place, but not the artist lineup, which the committee said will be provided closer to the season.

According to the release, which was issued Monday, “Festival Fete Kingdom” is the theme of the 2018-19 festival season, which it says pays homage to St. Croix’s African heritage while acknowledging the present-day festival revelry and pageantry.

The honoree for the Food, Arts and Crafts Fair is Patricia Lynch Irving and the Festival Village, “Miss Alda’s Palace” is named for Miss Alda Francis. Food Fair and Village honorees are chosen by the committee based on the length of time they have been participating in their respective events, according to the release.

Gospel Show

December 25, 8 pm in Miss Alda’s Palace;

Village Opening and Fireworks

December 26, 8 pm in Miss Alda’s Palace;

Reggae Night

December 29, 8 pm in Miss Alda’s Palace;

Cultural Night

December 30, 8 pm in Miss Alda’s Palace;

Jouvert

January 2; Gather at Hanna’s Rest Corner 5:00 a.m.

Arts, Crafts and Food Fair 

January 2, around the Eliza McBean Clock Tower on the Frederiksted waterfront;

Latin Night 

January 3, 8 pm in Miss Alda’s Palace;

Children’s Parade

January 4, Begins at Claude O Markoe school at 10 am and comes down King Street

Adults parade

January 5, Begins at Claude O Markoe school at 10 am and comes down King Street

Closing Fireworks

January 5, 8pm, Frederiksted town;

Village Closes

January 5, 2 am.
