ST. THOMAS — Two men were arrested here last week on separate charges, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Sunday.

The first involved a man named George Anthony Joseph, above left, who was seen on surveillance cameras entering a business establishment named Above and Below Marine Services, located in Frydenhoj, through one of the windows of the establishment while the building was locked and secured by the owner, according to Mr. Dratte.

On Friday, officers from Newton Command located Mr. Joseph, 45, at his residence, and transported him to the Richard Callwood Command where he was advised of his rights, placed under arrest, and charged with second-degree burglary.

Unable to make bail of $50,000, Mr. Joseph was remanded to the Bureau of Correction pending advisement hearing.

The second incident involved a man named Amari Warner, above right, who is said to have assaulted a another man, breaking the victim’s nose.

According to Mr. Dratte, on Friday at about 2:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Schneider Regional Medical Center in regards to an assault victim. Upon arrival, the victim told police that he was walking in the area of Nadir, when Mr. Warner drove up to him, approached him and assaulted him.

Mr. Warner was arrested the same day at 4:10 p.m. after a warrant was signed by a judge for his apprehension, Mr. Dratte said. Mr. Warner was charged with third-degree assault, simple assault and battery, disturbance of the peace, and instigating or aiding a fight.

Unable to make bail of $25,000, Mr. Warner was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advisement hearing.
