The Election System of the Virgin Islands has announced that early voting in St. Croix and St. Thomas will commence on October 15 and run until October 29, while early voting in St. John will begin on October 20 and end on October 23, according to Supervisor of Elections Caroline Fawkes.

For all locations, which can be found below, early voting will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 6:00 p.m.

  • St. Croix Elections System Office, located in the Sunny Isle Annex
  • St. Thomas Elections Office, located Lockhart Gardens upstairs Banco Popular
  • St. John Elections Office, located in the Market Place Suite II

Mrs. Fawkes said a record number of individuals voted early during the Democratic primary election, and the supervisor is expecting a “significant” increase for the general election. Mrs. Fawkes urged the elderly, disabled, and those who are traveling to take advantage of early voting to avoid lines at polling places come November 6, according to the release.

For voters seeking to participate via absentee ballot, applications must be submitted by September 20 for any absentee ballot that must be mailed off island, Mrs. Fawkes said.

If you have additional questions about the process, call the Elections offices at 340-773-1021 on St. Croix, or 340-774-3107 on St. Thomas.
