ST. THOMAS — With the Democratic primary now over, Democrats are moving to unite their base to take on Governor Kenneth Mapp and the other independent candidates in November. The three teams that went head-to-head on Saturday are holding a press conference in St. Thomas on Wednesday, where the Petrus-Sanes and Dawson-James teams are expected to announce their support for Albert Bryan, who won the primary with over 3,000 votes.
According to a release issued late Tuesday, Mr. Bryan said both teams have pledged their support to unite the party in an effort to win the general election come November. “We want our Democratic Party supporters and the general public to know that the Democratic Party has pledged to work vigorously to unite its members and to restore transparency and economic integrity to [the] Virgin Islands government,” Mr. Bryan said.
All three men along with a party official, are expected to address the public, according to the release.
The press conference begins at 10:00 a.m. and will be carried live on radio stations WSTA 1340 A.M. and WLDV 107.9 F.M., as well as the Albert Bryan for Governor Facebook page.
