Suspect In March 2018 Homicide Arrested

Crime / News / Virgin Islands / July 29, 2018

ST. CROIX — The V.I.P.D. on Friday arrested a man in connection with the March 2018 homicide of 23-year-old Alex Gonzalez, who was shot to death at the Ruby M. Rouss Housing Community on March 31.

The suspect, identified as 21-year-old Manuel V. Davis, seen above, whose moniker is “Matatan”, was arrested based on a warrant issued by a Superior Court judge. Already in prison serving a separate sentence, Mr. Davis was charged with first-degree murder while jailed in relation to the March 31 incident, Mr. Dratte said.

His bail for the homicide charge was set at $1 million, but even if he could have posted it, Mr. Davis would still be in prison serving his current sentence.
