Originally scheduled for July 10, then moved to July 14, early voting for the August 4 primary election will now start on July 18 and end on July 25, giving residents 7 days to participate, according to a release the Election System of the Virgin Islands issued on Thursday. The Election System blamed the second delay on “late receipt of funding to purchase the election ballots.”
Early voting will take place at the following locations:
- The St. Croix Elections Office, located in the Sunny Isle Annex (Unit 4)
- The St. Thomas Elections Office, located in Lockhart Gardens (upstairs Banco Popular)
- The St. John Elections Office, located at the Market Place, suite II
Last week Caroline Fawkes, Elections supervisor, released an amended 2018 election calendar that pins early voting for the general election as beginning on October 15 and ending on October 29.
General election day is November 6. And peradventure there were to be a runoff election, it would take place on November 20, according to the calendar provided by Mrs. Fawkes and seen below.
