Home Depot St. Thomas Robbed By Multiple Suspects; Firefight Breaks Out Outside Store Between Police And Assailants

Crime / News / Virgin Islands / December 17, 2017

ST. THOMAS — The Home Depot store in St. Thomas was robbed by multiple suspects at about 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, according to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte, in what appeared to be a well-planned heist that saw assailants making away with an untold amount of cash.

According to Mr. Dratte, some of the suspects held up employees while others seized an unspecified amount of cash.

As the suspects exited the store, they were met by patrol officers, and there was an exchange of gunfire, Mr. Dratte said. The suspects managed to escape, however, and fled in the direction of the former Donoe Housing Community in a silver-colored sedan, Mr. Dratte said.

Police are seeking the community’s assistance in bringing the assailants to justice, according to Mr. Dratte. If you have any information regarding this incident, contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-774-2211. Or you may also send you anonymous tip to Crime Stoppers USVI here.
