ST. CROIX — The Virgin Islands Police Department is searching for a man called “Eddie”, said to be in his late forties or early fifties, and who frequents the grocery store near the Williams Delight entrance on the Queen Mary Highway (Centerline Road). “Eddie” is wanted in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred in Williams Delight on Saturday during the 7:00 p.m. hour, according to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte.

The 911 emergency call center was notified of the incident, which occurred on 6th Avenue, at about 7:42 p.m. Saturday. Upon officers arrival to the scene, they found 55-year-old Berchan Joseph lying on the roadway unresponsive, as he had succumbed to the stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the Juan F. Luis Hospital the same night.

The V.I.P.D. did not make available a picture of the suspect, nor other pertinent identifying information like complexion and height, but the force is requesting that anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of “Eddie”, call 911, or contact Crime Stoppers USVI here.
