Woman Robbed At Gunpoint, Carjacked

ST. CROIX — A woman told police that she was robbed and carjacked by an armed man in La Grande Princesse on Tuesday night, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced Wednesday.

The victim said she was approached by the man sometime after 11:00 p.m. (the call came in to the 911 emergency call center at about 11:42 p.m.). She said the armed man, who also wore a mask, pointed the firearm to her head while demanding the keys for her vehicle.

Shaken, the victim gave her keys to the man, who then escape with her transport and drove in a westerly direction. The victim was not physically harmed, according to police.

The V.I.P.D. is asking anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the suspect involved in this incident to contact the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 340-778-2211 on St. Croix, or 340-774-2211 on St. Thomas. Tipsters can also contact Crime Stoppers USVI, where their tip may lead to a payday.
