Suspects Flee With Cash After Robbing Pony Parlor In St. Thomas

Crime / News / Virgin Islands / March 26, 2017

ST. THOMAS — Employees and patrons of the Pony Parlor, which is located in Frenchtown, are reportedly unharmed after three males robbed the establishment at gun point on Wednesday, V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman recently announced.

The 911 Emergency Call Center received a call from a citizen reporting the incident at approximately 10:12 p.m.

Officers at the scene made contact with the owner of the business who stated that his establishment had been robbed at about 9:30 p.m. According to the owner, three males, who Police Commissioner Delroy Richards told The Consortium this morning were Hispanic, entered the bar and pointed firearms at the employees, asking them for money. He said one of the males went behind the parlor, while the other two males kept their firearms pointed at the employees and the one patron at the bar.  The male behind the bar proceeded to remove money and a money bag—containing an unknown amount of cash—from the cash register. The assailants reportedly exited the business fleeing in what appeared to be an SUV, according to Ms. Freeman.

The Criminal Investigation Bureau (C.I.B.) is currently investigating the matter. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact C.I.B. at 340-7742211 ext. 5579 and 5557. You can also contact 911, the Chief’s Office at 340-715-5548, the Commissioner’s office at 340-715-5506, or Crime Stoppers V.I., where your tip may lead to a financial reward.

I have been writing for as long as I can remember. For me writing is a love beyond definition and explanation. I do it because of a love for the art, because everyone has a story, and every story is worth being told. My inspiration comes from observing the people and things around me, sharing ideas with friends and family, my own personal experiences and ways of thinking, and a desire to continuously learn and gain understanding.
