Two Arrested On Halloween Night For Assaulting Patrons With Eggs; Chief Says There’s ‘Zero Tolerance’ For Such Behavior

Crime / News / Virgin Islands / November 1, 2016

ST. CROIX — Police here on Monday night arrested two men for assaulting residents who were attending a Halloween block party on Strand Street in Frederiksted, V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte announced on Tuesday.

Police arrested Leroy Simon, 22, and Luis Carrion, 19, at about 7:57 p.m. last night for third-degree assault. The men had thrown eggs at several individuals who were attending the block party.

St. Croix Police Chief Winsbut McFarland said that the V.I.P.D. would not tolerate such behavior.

“There’s absolutely zero tolerance for this type of behavior,” Chief McFarland said. “Citizens in this community should be able go out and have a safe enjoyable evening at all times.”

The men were unable to post bail, and they were remanded to the Golden Grove Detention Center pending their advise-of-rights hearing.
