St. Thomas Arrests And Incidents: Domestic Violence, Assault, Shooting Victim

V.I.P.D. Media Specialist Sakeeda Freeman announced the following arrests and one incident that occurred in the St. Thomas-St. John district from Oct. 15-16.

Saturday, October 15, 2016 at approximately 3:50 a.m., 27-year-old Leonard Monsanto, above, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault, after he was witnessed drawing a firearm from his waist and pointing it at several individuals in the parking lot of Krush Nightclub.

Unable to post bail of $25,00, Mr. Monsanto was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-of-rights hearing.

Saturday, October 15, 2016, a male victim was treated at the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center for a gunshot wound that entered the back of his left upper arm and exited his chest area. The victim stated that he was walking in the area of the Paul M. Pearson Garden Housing Community’s exit, when an unknown individual fired about 4 to 5 shots in his direction.

The victim was treated for his injury sustained during the shooting and released.

Sunday, October 16, 2016, Geodo Reye, 40, of Garden Street, was arrested at roughly 7:58 p.m. and charged with third-degree assault after he assaulted his girlfriend with an aluminum leveler.

No bail was set for Mr. Reye in accordance with Virgin Islands domestic violence laws, and he was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections pending his advise-rights-hearing.
