Decaying Body Found On Mahogany Road In Frederiksted

ST. CROIX — V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Glen Dratte said this today that a decomposing body was found on Mahogany Road in Frederiksted this afternoon.

According to Mr. Dratte, at about 3:58 p.m., a concerned citizen reported that while walking a dog, a strong stench was emanating from some bushes, and after careful examination, what appeared to be a body was discovered near the Mahogany Road in the vicinity of the crusher. Following the discovery of the body, contact was made with police, Mr. Dratte said.

Upon arrival to the scene, officers examined the body, which was badly decomposed. Mr. Dratte said an active investigation into the matter is currently underway.
