Man Shot Dead In Wintberg, St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — A man was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds about his body in the area of Wintberg on Thursday night, The Consortium has learned. Details of the incident — which hasn’t been officially released by the VIPD as information was still being gathered — was provided to The Consortium by the force’s Media Specialist, Sakeeda Freeman, following a request made by the publication.

According to the information provided, at approximately 10:24 p.m. on Thursday, officers traveled to the area of Wintberg in reference to a victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Upon arrival on the scene, the officers met a light complexion male of Spanish decent, who was lying unresponsive on the road.

Emergency medical technicians were called to the scene and subsequently examined the seemingly dead man, and found no signs of life. The victim was later removed by morgue attendants to the Roy Lester Schneider Hospital.

The victim’s identity has not been released, and police say an investigation into the homicide has been launched.
