‘Glitch’ In JFL’s System Prevented Employees From Being Paid Today

News / Virgin Islands / November 12, 2015

ST. CROIX — A press release issued by the Juan F. Luis Hospital this afternoon reveals that employees who receive pay through direct deposit did not receive the money today, due to a “technical error”.

According to the release, the direct deposit will be delayed by one day, so employees affected by the glitch will receive their pay on Friday. Employees who receive physical checks were not affected by the error, the release confirmed, and employees who signed up for electronic notification still received those notices Thursday morning.

JFL’s administrators are apologetic for the error, the release went on, stressing that the non-payment was because of a file error and not because the hospital could not meet its payroll obligations.

“This is an unfortunate situation, and we want to make sure that everyone knows this had nothing to do with finances, it was a technical error on our part,” said JFL Chief Financial Officer Tim Lessing. “We do apologize for any inconvenience and undue stress this may have put on our employees,” he concluded.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
