ST. CROIX — As summer comes to an end, local Soca sensation Rudylive and M&Z Promotions, along with Neighborhood Pharmacy have partnered to put on what is being dubbed as one of the most memorable events this summer, according to a press release the group issued on Friday.

The event, which takes place from 12:00-6:00 p.m. at 140B Estate St. George, Frederiksted (the parking lot across from Mountain Gas Station on Centerline Road) and includes Soca star Pumpa, will be a family affair with a myriad of activities, including a basketball shootout contest, hola hoop contest, face painting, wip nae nae competition, bouncy and much more.

Over 300 schoolbags and supplies will be given to attending children, and two gift certificates will be awarded to Women’s Coalition of St. Croix, made available through the office of Senator Sammuel Sanes, according to the release.

Parents will be treated to the music of Rudylive and M&Z Promotions, Tia, and Pumpa will culminate the affair with an energetic performance.

One of the event’s main sponsors, Neighborhood Pharmacy, is owned by Dr. Kisha Christian-Butcher, who’s known for her dedication in giving back to her community.

A native daughter, Dr. Christian-Butcher stays involved in many community organizations, including League of Women Voters, Generation Now!, Inc. and is currently working on her own non-profit organization that will focus on healthcare in the community.

“Neighborhood Pharmacy is committed  to giving back to the community,” Dr. Christian-Butcher said. “We have already participated in one give back with Vivid Streaming where we raised money to purchase an electric wheelchair. This is our second community event and we haven’t even opened our doors yet.” Dr. Christian-Butcher also serves as a board member for the Freewill Investment Group.
