ST. CROIX — The Quelbe at Sunset event sponsored by the Dept. Sports, Parks and Recreation, held at the Verne I. Richards Veteran Memorial Park located on Strand Street in Frederiksted proved to be a success, as residents lined the waterfront, some relaxing in chairs while others danced to the rhythm of cultural torchbearers, Stanley and the Ten Sleepless Knights aND other bands.

The event brought out mostly middle-aged adults, although residents seemingly in their mid-to -late thirties could be seen in the area. A few vendors were also present at the laid-back affair, serving well-known local dishes during the successful occasion.

The next Quelbe at Sunset event takes place on Friday, August 14 at the same location from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m., with the Russell Ensemble as the featured performing band.

I wear many hats, I suppose, but the one which fits me best would be journalism, second to that would be radio personality, thirdly singer/songwriter and down the line. I've been the Editor-In-Chief at my videogames website, Gamesthirst, for over 5 years, writing over 7,000 articles and more than 2 million words. I'm also very passionate about where I live, the United States Virgin Islands, and I'm intent on making it a better place by being resourceful and keeping our leaders honest. VI Consortium was birthed out of said desire, hopefully my efforts bear fruit. Reach me at [email protected].
