USVI Soccer Association Kicks Off Men’s League With Money Lake Challenge Cup

St. Croix — The USVI Soccer Association Men’s League is bringing in the new season with an aggregate knockout tournament here, according to a press release the association issued on Thursday.

Starting at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, the USVISA will hold a one-day tournament at Schjang Playing Field. The contest will feature all clubs from the Men’s League St. Croix region, including the newly added UVI SC and the returning Skills FC.

The Money Lake Challenge Cup will consist of seven 40-minute matches and two groups made up of four clubs each. Group A includes Helenites SC, UVI SC, True Playerz SC, and Skills SC. Group B includes Rovers SC, Unique TSC, Freewill SC and Prankton SC.

After the initial matches, the winners of Game 5 and 6 will faceoff for the final round for the chance at the Money Lake Cup.

Match-ups are as follows:

Sunday August 9, 2015-Schjang Field | St. Croix

Game 1 | Helenites vs. Skills 1:00 p.m.
Game 2 | Prankton vs. Rovers 1:45 p.m.
Game 3 | UVI vs. True Playerz 2:25 p.m.
Game 4 | Freewill vs. Unique 3:15 p.m.
Game 5 | Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 3 4:05 p.m.
Game 6 | Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 4 4:45 p.m.
Game 7 | Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 6 5:20 p.m.
