Amateur Basketball Tournament Set For St. Thomas

ST. THOMAS — MyIsland Ballers in conjunction with Legacy Athletics will be hosting the 1st Annual VI Elite 30 Evaluation Combine basketball tournament on August 13th-16th at the Ivanna Eudora Kean High School Gymnasium here, according to a press release the organization issued on Sunday.

The event is open to basketball players within the territory and from the neighboring islands, including Tortola, Virgin Gorda. The Evaluation Combine will consist of an array of basketball drills, speed and agility drills, measurements, NCAA requirements seminar, vertical jump test, scrimmages, and an All Star Game.

Additional benefits of attendees include the following:

  • Complete individual player assessment/evaluation and player ranking conducted by four (4) Master Trainers highlighting both strengths and weaknesses. This will give the athletes specific pointers on how to improve their game.
  • All the activities at the Combine will be videotaped. Features of each attendee will be attached to their profile in the Legacy Athletics database where college coaches subscribe to as a means of assistance during their recruitment process.
