Kenson Jolly, 25, of Estate Pastory Gardens, St. John, was arrested Feb. 18 on first degree assault charges in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred that evening, VIPD Public Information Officer Kevin Jackson has announced.
Police officers were dispatched to Cruz Bay at around 9:21 p.m. on Wednesday with reports of a stabbing. The assailant was described as a black male, wearing black clothing and carrying a machete.
Officers discovered Rupert Walters, the victim, bleeding from multiple stab wounds. Minutes later, after searching the surrounding area, officers encountered a bloodied Jolly, who matched the description of the suspect.
Jolly was placed under arrest after being positively identified by a witness as the individual that assaulted Walters.
Jolly’s bail has been set at $110,000 and he has been remanded to the Bureau of Corrections.
In other news, the VIPD’s warrant unit on Feb. 18 executed an arrest warrant for Bernita Plummer, 38, of Anna’s Retreat, and charged her with embezzlement, obtaining money by false pretenses, and grand larceny.
Plummer had been employed at the Southern Rent-to-Own furniture and appliance business, located in the Bovoni Storage Center, and failed to make 28 daily deposits totaling $28, 853.67.
She was remanded to the Bureau of Corrections and was later released by the court after placing a $25,000 unsecured bond.
No additional information was provided by the VIPD on further court action against Plummer.
