64-Year-Old Man Dies After Being Struck By Vehicle

ST. THOMAS -- A man was struck by a vehicle and succumbed to injuries he sustained during impact, the V.I.P.D. has announced.

According to police, on Wednesday at approximately 6:33 a.m., a safari traveling east on Emile “Milo” Francis Drive in the vicinity of PG Gas Station hit a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway.

The pedestrian, a 64-year-old black male, was transported to the Roy Lester Schneider Regional Medical Center via ambulance, but later succumbed to the injuries he sustained in the accident.

The victim was identified as Leonard Christopher Amey.

This incident is under investigation by the VIPD Traffic Investigation Bureau.
