The National Hurricane Center has issued an alert concerning an evolving weather system in the Tropical Atlantic.

As of 2:00 a.m. on Wednesday, a significant area of low pressure, designated as Central Tropical Atlantic (AL94), was situated about 1000 miles to the east of the Windward Islands. This system has been consistently showing increasing signs of organization. The current environmental conditions are projected to support its steady development.

As the system advances in a westward to west-northwestward trajectory across the central and western tropical Atlantic, it's highly likely that it will evolve into a tropical depression within the next day or so.

The residents and interests in the Lesser Antilles are strongly advised to closely monitor the progress of this system. Regardless of its development status, this system holds the potential to usher in gusty winds, significant rainfall, and consequent flooding to areas of the Lesser Antilles by Friday.

The probability of the system's formation in the next 48 hours stands at a high 80 percent, and the same high likelihood persists through a 7-day forecast.
