64-Year-Old Man Charged After Allegedly Beating Victim with Stick

Glen Miller was arrested after allegedly pushing a man to the ground and striking him on the head with a stick. The victim was taken to JFL for treatment. Miller, unable to post $25,000 bail, remains in custody pending his advice of rights hearing.

ST. CROIX — A 64-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a victim with a stick in Frederiksted Town, the V.I. Police Department has announced.

According to the release, on Wednesday at approximately 12:48 p.m., the 911 Emergency Call Center received a report of an assault in progress near Lutheran Social Services in Frederiksted.

Responding detectives arrived at the scene and were directed to the victim, who was bleeding from the head. According to witness statements, the suspect, identified as 64-year-old Glen Miller, had approached the victim as he walked along the side of the road.

Without provocation, Miller allegedly pushed the victim to the ground. When the victim attempted to stand, Miller struck him over the head with a stick, causing further injury.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Juan F. Luis Hospital for medical treatment.

Detectives located Miller, who admitted to pushing the victim. He was advised of his Miranda Rights, arrested, and charged with assault before being transported to the John Bell Correctional Facility. Unable to post $25,000 bail, he remains in custody pending his advice of rights hearing.
