The V.I. Department of Human Services is urgently reminding all Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP/CASH) recipients to submit their required documents by the upcoming deadline to ensure uninterrupted benefit issuance for May.

DHS's Division of Family Assistance, Certification Unit, emphasizes the importance of timely submission of Recertification Applications, Periodic Reports, and any other required documents to avoid potential disruptions in receiving benefits. With the deadline fast approaching, the department stresses the significance of adhering to due dates listed on received documents to maintain benefits without interruption.

Failure to submit these essential documents by the specified due dates could lead to suspension of benefit uploads to recipients' Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards or, in some cases, complete case closure requiring reapplication. This reminder is also directed towards first-time applicants, who are advised to thoroughly complete their application packets and include all necessary copies of mandatory documents to avoid processing delays.

Residents can submit their paperwork through various means offered by VIDHS, including in-person delivery, USPS, email, and dedicated drop boxes located on St. Croix, St. Thomas, and St. John. Additionally, facilities are available for document submission through fax.

For any assistance or inquiries regarding the submission process, recipients are encouraged to contact their caseworker or the Certification Unit Offices at the numbers provided for their respective islands. It's also possible to check EBT card balances by calling the provided toll-free number or using the EBT App.
