Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach left the territory Thursday to attend the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Fall National Meeting in Austin, Texas. The NAIC and the Center for Insurance Policy and Research will host sessions and task force activities specifically designed to educate state legislators and government officials about key aspects of state-based insurance regulations, provide an overview of NAIC services and engage in discussions regarding key policy developments.

In his capacity as the commissioner of Insurance, Mr. Roach will participate in several meetings regarding NAIC initiatives and model laws to include: the state of long-term care insurance, natural disaster resiliency, financial regulation standards, the market for cannabis insurance, and the adoption of reports from the NAIC standing committees, according to a release issued by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor.

Mr. Roach will return to the Territory on December 10. During his absence, Senate President Novelle E. Francis will assume the duties of the Lieutenant Governor, as per the Revised Organic Act of the Virgin Islands.

Governor Albert Bryan will return from his Washington D.C., trip Monday.
