Standard Aviation St. Thomas has been awarded the top spot among Caribbean fixed-base operators (FBOs) in the 2024 survey by Aviation International News (AIN), according to the April issue released last Monday.

Garnering an average rating of 4.6 out of a perfect 5.0 across five categories, this recognition marks another significant achievement for the luxury facility, having also been named the number one FBO in the Caribbean by Professional Pilot magazine readers in the 2022 PRASE Survey.

Shaun Miller, a member of Standard Aviation, LLC, expressed delight over the recognition, attributing it to the exceptional efforts of the team and their contribution to promoting tourism in the U.S. Virgin Islands. "We are elated to see our luxury facility and top-tier customer service recognized in a global spotlight once again,” he said. “To receive another industry magazine’s highest honor for the Caribbean region, is a testament to the work our outstanding team has done for U.S. Virgin Islands tourism."

The survey, now in its 43rd year, involves cumulative voting since 2015, with participants rating FBOs based on line service, passenger amenities, pilot amenities, facilities, and the performance of customer service representatives (CSRs). Since its opening at Cyril E. King Airport in July 2020, 2024 marks the first year Standard Aviation has been acknowledged in this esteemed survey.

Carlton Dowe, the executive director of the Virgin Islands Port Authority, praised the Standard Aviation team for their exceptional service that meets the high expectations of private jet clients, underscoring the significance of their achievement not just for the company but for the territory's airports as well.

Achieving a 4.6 average rating not only distinguishes Standard Aviation as the premier FBO in the Caribbean but also places it within the top 20 percent of FBOs across the Americas, a notable feat as it stands as the only Caribbean FBO to achieve such a ranking.

As a luxury FBO, Standard Aviation offers comprehensive aircraft fuel and services, including 24/7 customs clearance, and boasts the largest free-span building in the Caribbean with 24,000 square feet of enclosed hangar space.

Established in 2016 as a fuel operator at Cyril E. King Airport, Standard Aviation has since become a key entry point for high net worth individuals visiting the U.S. and British Virgin Islands.
