Ranger American armored truck on fire in Clifton Hill on Saturday
ST. CROIX — A Ranger American armored truck caught on fire Saturday afternoon in Clifton Hill, an incident the V.I.P.D. said did not result in any injuries.
According to residents of the Clifton Hill community, a loud explosion was heard after the 2:00 p.m. hour Saturday. The armored vehicle, which remained at the location for well over an hour, was engulfed in flames, with the entire front seemingly destroyed.
According to V.I.P.D. Public Information Officer Toby Derima, the fire was a result of a mechanical issue, and that there were "no injuries and no criminal acts associated with the incident."
