Guardian Insurance Company has donated 5,000 face masks to the Department of Health and Virgin Islands Police Department, the company announced this week.

Guardian President, Raymond Fournier, expressed gratitude to first responders for their work in general, which has become more pronounced during the global Covid-19 (Coronavirus 2019) crisis.

“We are extremely grateful to our health care workers and first responders serving on the front lines but even more so during this unprecedented global health crisis," Mr. Fournier said. "These men and women continue to dedicate their lives to save and assist our community. We are honored to support them with these much-needed resources."

Mr.. Fournier also thanked the territory's leaders — Governor Albert Bryan and Lieutenant Governor Tregenza Roach — along with agency and department heads "for their leadership during these very challenging times.”

Guardian Insurance was founded in St. Thomas in 1984 and is today the largest local insurer in the USVI, according to the company's About Us page. "For more than 30 years we have proudly been serving the Caribbean with competitive Property and Casualty insurance products and are currently enjoying a rating of "B++ GOOD" by AM Best," Guardian said.
